Exclusions

The Tempur-Pedic mattress warranty doesn’t cover certain types of damage or normal wear and tear. It excludes the natural softening of the mattress foam over time, which is typical and expected with polyfoam and memory foam mattresses. It isn’t valid if you decide you don’t like the bed due to your own comfort preferences.

As we mentioned above, the warranty doesn’t cover damage caused by placing the mattress on an unsuitable frame or foundation. It also excludes mattresses sold “as is” by unauthorized sellers and floor models or demonstration mattresses. We’ll explain more about demo and floor models later in the article.

The warranty also excludes damage caused by misuse, such as burns, rips, or spills. However, Tempur-Pedic will repair or replace mattresses with this type of damage as long as the fault you claim for is unrelated. For example, you could claim for deep body indentations even if the mattress is ripped, as long as the ripping didn’t cause the indentations.

Replacement Terms

Pre-2014 Tempur-Pedic Mattress Warranty

If you bought your mattress before March 1st, 2014, you would have a more extended warranty. These beds have a 25-year warranty, and the coverage is essentially the same. It doesn’t cover natural softening over time, your own comfort preferences, or damage caused by misuse. Like the current mattress warranty, you must place your bed on a suitable frame or foundation.

Unlike the current warranty, the pre-March 2014 Tempur-Pedic mattress policy is partially prorated. For the first ten years, the warranty is non-prorated. This term means that you can have a faulty mattress repaired or replaced free of charge. However, you must pay for any transportation costs. You can also upgrade a defective mattress by paying the difference between your existing bed and the updated model.

From year 11 onwards, the warranty is prorated. This term means that you will need to pay some charges to have your mattress repaired or replaced, along with any transportation costs.

If you have your mattress repaired, Tempur-Pedic will charge a handling fee. Fees for replacement vary. In the eleventh year, you will be charged 50% of the original cost of your mattress.
